Square-Enix Working on MMORPG for Xbox 360 and Vista
In an interview with Pro-G, Hiromichi Tanaka has confirmed that Square-Enix is working on a next-generation massively multiplayer online role-playing game for the Xbox 360 and Windows Vista. Tanaka is the Senior Vice President of Software Development at Square Enix and he was the lead developer of Final Fantasy XI. He's currently working on the Nintendo DS version of Final Fantasy III.
"I'm still working on XI as it's on-going" Tanaka told Pro-G. "We are also working on a next-generation MMORPG for 360 and Vista but PS3 is a possibility."
Last month, Square-Enix announced it has licensed Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 technology. Hopefully, this new MMORPG the company is working on will be powered by Epic's technology and offer Xbox Live Anywhere functionality for Xbox 360 and Windows Vista users.
In an interview with 1up, Shane Kim has revealed that Microsoft won’t ship any first-party title in October, as that is the release month for Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto IV. That forces the software giant to release Project Gotham Racing 4 and Halo 3 in either September or November. Lost Odyssey has already been scheduled for release in December.
At first, it’d make sense to have PGR 4 launching in September and then Halo 3 coming out in its traditional November date. But as the general manager of Microsoft Game Studios points out, having Halo 3 coming in September could be an option.
"We don't tell Bungie when they have to ship Halo 3." Kim told 1up. "If they can get out before GTA4, they probably feel like that's better, sort of like Xbox 360 coming out before PlayStation 3."
Can Halo 3 sell well if it is released so early? Kim believes so.
"What happened in September of 2004? In September of 2004 we released Fable, Fable got big sales and then in November got big sales again," Kim said. "I just believe great titles can get the double bump and I think Halo 3 is going to be that."
como assim?
