Yes, it's
very common to feel that movie mode is too warm. I would suggest trying to live with it for about 2 weeks because it is technically the correct setting(warm -5) and will result in the greatest variation of colors being shown on screen. If you just really can't get used to it after two weeks, go ahead and raise the color temperature by a few notches.
Forget about the smart settings.
Here's some basic settings to get you started:
Start with Movie mode or Game mode
- Contrast at 50
- Black Level at 50
- Sharpness at 0
- Color saturation at 50
- Color temp on warm -5
- Local Contrast on high
- Gamma at 2.2
- Brightness setting to your liking
- All other settings off
For HDR or Dolby Vision, set contrast to 100 and Brightness to 100 and all other settings the same as above
These are just very basic settings to get you started. I prefer to
lower the color saturation setting to reduce bleeding, but most people prefer a bit of extra color, so 50 should be fine.
