Interest Towards Xbox 360 Console Rises.
Japanese Bid on Xbox 360, as U.S. Stores Cease Preorders

Demand for the Xbox 360 game console worldwide seems to be increasing as Japanese customers are getting more interested in the Xbox 360 game than before, whereas at least one U.S.-based online store has pre-sold out of allocated Xbox 360 bundles.

Famitsu Weekly, a news-paper from Japan cited by Joystiq web-site, recently said that Japanese gamers’ interest in purchasing the Xbox 360 nearly quadrupled after Tokyo Games Show (TGS), jumping from 6% to 22%. While exact reasons for the increase remain unclear, observers note that at the TGS the software giant demonstrated Japanese-favorite titles like Armored Core, Bomberman, Gundam, Resident Evil, and Ridge Racer on the Xbox 360.

Meanwhile, the U.S.-based video game e-tailer EBgames.com has pre-sold out of Xbox 360 bundles, Punch Jump web-site reports. The online store had offered the Xbox 360 core bundle at $599.93 and the Xbox 360 ultimate bundle at $699.92. Several retailers, including EB Game’ parent company GameStop, are still taking pre-orders for launch quantities of the Xbox 360, the publication notes.

Microsoft Xbox 360 console is based around microprocessor developed by IBM, high-definition visual processing unit designed by ATI Technologies, I/O controller engineered by SiS and some other key components. The gaming machine will provide a broad set of multimedia capabilities in addition to games.

Depending on the bundle, Microsoft Xbox 360 will cost $299 or $399. The software giant will launch the Xbox 360 in North America on November 22nd. The release will followed by a December 2 launch in Europe and a December 10 launch in Japan.

gostava de ver essa sondagem a ser feita logo antes da PS3 sair :p é que este momento... é logo antes da xbox 360 sair... next gen isolada blah blah blah, tem mais jogos com cenas in-game mostradas deve ser o auge dela de popularidade, daqui... só para baixo.

a M$ ainda não é desta que tem sorte no japão, é capaz de ter mais que antes, mas... basta à sony baixar o preço da PS2 e aguenta até à PS3 com a qual a xbox 360, digam o que disserem, não pode simplesmente competir, no japão.
 
N sei se ja foi dito (n acompanhei a thread) mas a Xbox 360 já tem data e preço para portugal:

Mas é interessante ver este aumento de interesse pelos Japoneses.
Agora é esperar de que forma isso se vai traduzir em vendas a partir do dia do lançamento.

Ca para mim e tendo em conta que a maior parte dos japoneses ja tem a PS2, logo nao faz sentido tarem a compra-la outra vez, a Xbox360 ainda vai vender uma boa parcela por aquelas terras...

duvido, os japoneses são muito fãs das novas tecnologias e etc, mas só quando é novidade, depois vai decrescendo, não acho que a microsoft consiga manter o momentum e continuar sempre a vender consolas; até porque os japoneses não vão aderir ao xbox live facilmente, o serviço não foi pensado para resultar bem no japão, é simplesmente a primeira consola de proxima geração a sair, em qq lado do mundo as pessoas tão interessadas, resta saber se eles conseguem manter o momentum, aquilo até pode ser uma dreamcast... tava tudo muito interessado, mas no fim quando saiu no japão na primeira semana abanou 8% as vendas da PSone e N64 nada mais, achas que a Sony entrou em panico? matou-os com hype :-D Isso interesse sozinho... não quer dizer nada, eu tou interessado na PS3 e não quer dizer que a vá comprar, por exemplo.

Eu não sei se sabiam,mas após etsr abrowsing o site da Xbox descobri qua xbox 360(não core-system) não vem com baterias recarregáveis mas sim uma caixinha para colocar pilhas normais....que podre! :(

Pior que OLD NEWS só mesmo old news incorrectas. A data é 2 de DEZEMBRO e não Novembro. E na Newsletter está correcto que eu também a recebi :P
 
Vocemecês que são muito entendidos na matéria das HDTV's e afins... tirem lá uma duvida ao inculto nesta matéria :D

Tendo eu uma tv lcd não HD, se eu comprar o pacote que trás apenas o cabo para HD, posso utilizar esse mesmo cabo mesmo não tendo a tv para isso, usando apenas as respectivas RCA's do custume? :confused:

Analysts predict Xbox 360 will beat PlayStation 3

Good years for gaming to ensue


THE ANALYSTS Piper Jaffray have released an overview of the videogames console sector which stretches as far as 2011 and sees Microsoft's Xbox 360 taking an early lead in the upcoming console wars.
Through to 2008, the analysts predict that the Xbox 360 will shift 19.6 million units whilst the PlayStation 3 will lag behind with 15.5 million units, and Nintendo's Revolution will shift only 5 million units, based on late 2006 releases for both the PS3 and the Revolution.

In other areas the analysts predict a 45% increase in handheld hardware sales between now and 2011, which fits in with the heated competition which we're currently seeing as the likes of the PlayStation Portable, GameBoy DS and Gizmondo among others scrap over users and features.

The GameBoy line (including the DS) is expected to have a spectacular 2005 with a rather spectacular 7.5 million units shifted compared to the PSP's expected 3.8 million. However in the years following the two companies are expected to run neck and neck in the handheld consoles business, shifting 5.5 million, five million, and six million each in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

The analysts also expect Sony "to launch the next generation of its PSP (including an audio/video hard-drive) in mid-2006", which is a rather interesting assumption we think, though we can well imagine the PSP becoming an ongoing family of generations.

On the software side the analysts are also predicting hay making to be done, with a 43% increase in software sales by 2008 and new revenue streams such as in-game advertising and online downloading set to grow by 500%.

Finally the analysts cautioned investors against throwing their money in during the next 12 months which will be rather volatile, though they reiterated their outperform notices on major publishers Electronic Arts, Activision, THQ, and Take-Two Interactive. µ
